    A routing number is a nine-digit code used by financial institutions to identify other financial institutions. It’s also known as an RTN (routing transit number) and an ABA (American Bankers Association) routing number. Combined with your account number, it allows insitutions to locate your individual account.

    There are multiple ways

    There are two ways to find your routing number in the U.S. Bank Mobile App.

    The easiest way is to open the app and select U.S. Bank Smart Assistant™. Then say, “What’s the routing number for my checking account?”

    You can also find it by following these directions:

    1. Log into your account and select the desired account.
    2. Select the Account options link (below the available balance).
    3. Select Account information.
    4. You’ll see the last four digits of your account number which links to the full account number and the routing number.

    Get the app

    Find your routing number via online banking by logging into online banking and selecting what is a bank key applicable account.     When do I need my routing number?

    Financial institutions use your routing number every time you make a financial transaction in the United States. You’ll often be asked for it when you:

    • Set up direct deposit
    • Pay a bill online or by phone
    • Make a wire transfer

    Not sure how to write a check? You’re not alone. Here’s how:

    1. Date the check on the line at the top right corner.
    2. Fill in the name of the person or institution the check is for on the Pay to the order of line.
    3. Fill in the dollar amount in numbers in the box next to the Pay to the order of line.

    Hi Folks, I hope you are doing well and staying safe in these difficult COVID times. As you know that there is one area that I haven’t touched so far, i.e., Bank Accounting. Bank accounting plays a major role in SAP FI. All the incoming and outgoing payments you receive or make requires either a cash account or a bank account. Today, I will demonstrate how you can create a bank key in SAP using t-code FI01.

    But what is a bank key and why do we need it? In simple words, a bank key in SAP FICO is a unique key to identify a bank. A bank key consists of the bank account number and it’s address details. As you are aware that every bank branch has a unique IFSC code linked to it. This IFSC code helps in easily identifying the bank name and it’s branch details.

    Usually, you create the bank key the same as the IFSC code of a bank. For example, if the IFSC code of a particular bank branch is HDFC0002233, you create the same as a bank key as well. The reason is simple, the IFSC code is unique for a bank and the same can be used as a unique bank key.

    This is the ideal scenario. But, sometimes the client may opt for a different unique bank key code. It depends on the client with which unique code they want to proceed with. Let’s begin this tutorial on the creation of a bank key in SAP FICO.

    Create a bank key in SAP via FI01

    In order what is a bank key create a bank key in SAP FICO, you need to execute the transaction code FI01. This tcode will enable you to create a new unique code for bank key. If you have already created a bank key but want to change some details in it, you can execute the tcode FI02. Similarly, if you want to just display the bank key details, execute the tcode FI03 and enter the bank key to display the details.

    Since in our case I will be creating a new bank key, we will execute the transaction code FI01 to create it. In the initial screen, there are 2 input fields which are mandatory to fill. The first one is the bank country, i.e., the code of the country to which the bank belongs. For example, if a bank is operating in the USA country, then we will specify the country code US. Similarly, if the bank is in India, then the country code will be IN.

    The second field is for Bank Key. Like I have explained earlier, you need to enter a unique code in this field. For example, I’m entering the IFSC code of a bank operating in the USA. The IFSC code is US12345 and I have entered the same as the Bank Key.

    Enter the Bank Address Details

    After entering the bank country and the bank key in the initial screen, press Enter. This will take you to the next input screen where you have to enter the address details of the bank.

    • Bank Name – Enter the name of the bank in what is a bank key field. For example, if you are creating a bank key for ICICI Bank, then enter ICICI BANK as the bank name in this field.
    • Region – Enter the region code where this bank is situated. A region code is the state code. For example, for Tamil Nadu, the region code is TN.
    • Street – Enter the complete street address of the bank where it is located.
    • City – Enter the city name of the bank. For example, if a bank is located in Chennai, then you need to specify CHENNAI as the City name.
    • Bank Branch – Enter the name of the bank branch in this field.

    Enter the Bank Control Data

    In this section, you need to enter the SWIFT/BIC code of the bank and the bank account number. A SWIFT code is an international bank code that identifies particular banks worldwide. A SWIFT code is also known as a Bank Identifier Code (BIC).

    Like any other master data in SAP, bank key master data is also stored in the database table. SAP stores the bank key master data in table BNKA.     In this tutorial, we will learn How to Create a Bank Key

    Step 1) Enter FI01into the SAP transaction code box

    Step 2) In the next SAP Screen

    • Enter the Bank Country.
    • Enter the new Bank Key.
    • Click Enter Button

    Step 3) In the next SAP screenunder the Address section

    • Enter the Bank’s name.
    • Select the appropriate region.
    • Enter the bank’s street address.
    • Enter the Bank’s city.
    • Enter the appropriate branch name

    • Tick the Post. Bank Acct checkbox

    When contacting Key Bank, they will request that you to provide the last four digits of your SSN. Do not provide your SSN. Instead, provide the last four digits of your Hamilton Employee ID # (which is displayed on your Hill card).

    Transactions Management

    Statements arrive via email on approximately the 28th of each month. You do not need to wait until you receive a statement to start coding your transactions. It is recommended key bank online job application heavy card users review and code their transactions throughout the cycle.

Users will upload receipts from this folder into the Key2Purchase system and attach to a transaction envelope.

    Out of Pocket Expenses

    Cardholders should now add their out of pocket (OOP) expenses to their Key2Purchase transaction envelope instead of submitting a paper check request. Out of Pocket expenses cannot be processed until your supervisor has approved your transaction envelope. Approved OOP expenses will be added to the weekly Accounts Payable check run for payment.

    Bank Card "Master Key" Stolen

    South Africa’s Postbank experienced a catastrophic security failure. The bank’s master PIN key was stolen, forcing it to cancel and replace 12 million bank cards.

    The breach resulted from the printing of the bank’s encrypted master key in plain, unencrypted digital language at the Postbank’s old data centre in the Pretoria city centre.

    According to a number of internal Postbank reports, which the Sunday Times obtained, the master key was then stolen by employees.

    One of the reports said that the cards would cost about R1bn to replace. The master key, a 36-digit code, allows anyone who has it to gain unfettered access to the bank’s systems, and allows them to read and rewrite account balances, and change information and data on any of the bank’s 12-million cards.

    The bank lost $3.2 million in fraudulent transactions before the theft was discovered. Replacing all the cards will cost an estimated $58 million.
