Alison Bruce of E. Corinth Joins Senior Management Team

[Woodsville, NH: August 23, 2018] James E. Graham, President and Chief Executive Officer of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank announced the addition of Alison Bruce of East Corinth, VT to the bank's Senior Management team.

Alison was hired as Vice President and Compliance and Risk Specialist and will take over the duties of Vice President and Compliance Officer Wendy Hazlett when Wendy retires at the end of 2019.

Alison joins WGSB from Ledyard Bank, where she was Senior Vice President and Senior Operations Officer. Professionally, she has been a banker for nearly twenty years. Specializing in compliance and risk management, she has held many retail banking positions along the way, including teller, CSR, and branch manager. She is a graduate of Community College of Vermont and Stonier Graduate School of Banking, and earned a Leadership Certificate from the Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania. She attended many compliance and risk schools and conferences, and holds a Certified Regulatory Compliance Officer certificate from the Institute of Certified Bankers and a Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer certification from the Independent Community Bankers Association. She is also a member of the Waits River Valley School Board in East Corinth.

'While compliance work is done mostly behind-the-scenes, Alison's front-line experience, working directly with customers, is a real asset to her and will help the bank continue to meet changing regulations, while having the least impact on customers and staff,' said Graham.

Lise Howson of Northumberland Joins Commercial Loan Team

[Woodsville, NH: August 23, 2018] James E. Graham, President and Chief Executive Officer of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank announced an addition to the bank's commercial lending team.

Lise Howson of Northumberland, NH was hired as Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer. She will work with the bank's commercial team in many ways, including business development, special projects and initiatives, and support of existing commercial customers.

Lise joins WGSB from Bangor Savings Bank (formerly Granite Bank and First Colebrook Bank) where she was Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer in the Concord, NH area. In banking for nearly thirty years, she started work in the retail area, in branch management, operations, and compliance, and transitioned to commercial banking and lending in the southern New Hampshire area. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business, and holds certificates for many bank-related courses and programs. In addition to her professional work, Lise is Treasurer and a board member of the Coos Economic Development Corporation, member of the Groveton Revitalization Action Team (GREAT), and past-President of the Lancaster Rotary Club.

WGSB Announces Opening of Hanover Lending Office

[Woodsville, NH - February 27, 2018] Sean Long, Vice President and Upper Valley Market Manager for Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank announced the opening of a business lending office in Hanover. The office is located at 17 ½ Lebanon Street, on the second floor, above Four Seasons Sotheby's International Realty.

Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank's Hanover location will provide convenient meeting space for a variety of the bank's business purposes in the area. With two offices, a conference area, and reception desk, the Hanover office is home base for Sean Long, who manages the bank's commercial relationships in the region. It also offers space for residential lenders from Piermont and Woodsville who often meet with customers and vendors in the area. In addition, trust officer Randall Saulnier of Community Financial Services Group, the bank's trust and investment management affiliate, will use the conference area to meet with clients. The location will also serve as a satellite office for bank employees who live in the Hanover and surrounding area.

'Approximately 20% of the bank's loan portfolio is made up of commercial and residential mortgage relationships in the Hanover, Lebanon, and surrounding area, so the time is right to have a constant presence within the community,' said Dan Stannard, WGSB Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer.

Charles (Chuck) Butson Elected Chair of Bank's Board

[Woodsville, NH - January 26, 2018] James E. Graham, President and CEO of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank, announced today the election of Charles 'Chuck' Butson to the position of Chair of the Board of Directors of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank and Guaranty Bancorp, Inc. Chuck's promotion fills the seat vacated by long-time Chair, Walter Young, who recently retired.

A native of Woodsville, Chuck is Managing Partner of Butson Hotel Investments and Butson Hotel Management, both headquartered in Essex, VT. Elected to the board in 1990, he has helped the bank navigate significant changes and growth during the past 28 years.

Chuck is the second Butson to serve as Chair of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank's Board of Directors. His father, C. Lincoln Butson, also served the board 1966-1989, as Chair from 1983 until his retirement.

'Chuck's local roots, entrepreneurial spirit, management style, and commitment to the value of community banking have made his contributions invaluable to the bank for nearly three decades,' said Graham. 'We look forward to his continued support and guidance in his new role as Chair.'

Shauna Walker to Lead WGSB Loan Servicing Dept.

[Woodsville, NH: January 16, 2018] Dan Stannard, SVP/Senior Lending Officer at Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank (WGSB) announced that Shauna Walker of Woodsville has accepted the position of AVP/Loan Administration Officer. Shauna will manage loan servicing operations for the bank, filling the position now filled by Maria Whitcomb, who will retire following a transition and training period.

Shauna Walker started her career at WGSB in October 1995 as a teller, and soon transferred to the Loan Servicing Department. Since that time, she has held many positions, including Loan Servicing Representative, Loan Servicing Manager, Senior Loan Servicing Coordinator, and Residential Mortgage Supervisor & Underwriter. In 2014, she was promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President and Residential Production Officer, responsible for the support and management of the bank's mortgage loan production and portfolio.

'Shauna's diverse experience in the lending area, her reputation for getting things done, and her leadership ability make her the perfect candidate for this important role,' said Stannard. Bud Crane of Plymouth Elected to WGSB's Board of Directors

[Woodsville, NH - December 15, 2017] James E. Graham, President and CEO of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank, announced today the election of Francis 'Bud' Crane of Plymouth, NH to the Board of Directors of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank and Guaranty Bancorp, Inc.

Bud is the president and owner of Andrews Construction Co., Inc., a sitework and concrete company, located in Campton. Bud founded Andrews Construction in 1978 with one employee and has grown the business to one that employs 45 people. His commitment to quality work, timeliness, integrity, and safety has made Andrews Construction a highly respected company with commercial, residential, institutional, and municipal clients throughout New Hampshire.

Bud is a graduate of Plymouth State College and has a long list of industry related certifications and licenses. He is active within the construction industry as a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT Chapter and currently serves on the board of its NH Workers' Compensation Self Insurance Group. In addition, he is a past member of the Colby Sawyer College Facilities Advisory Committee.

Sean Long Joins WGSB as Upper Valley Market Manager

[Woodsville, NH: November 7, 2017] Daniel Stannard, Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank (WGSB) announced the addition of Sean Long as Vice President and Upper Valley Market Manager. Sean will be responsible for servicing current commercial loan relationships and building new relationships within the greater Upper Valley area. He will work from the bank's new Loan Production Office in Hanover, which will open in early 2018.

Sean has more than twenty years' experience in commercial lending and banking, including eighteen at Chittenden Bank/Peoples, and most recently at Merchants Bank/Community Bank, where the majority of his clients were based in the greater Upper Valley market. Throughout his banking career, Sean has focused on small business banking and served as a resource for clients looking for financial solutions to help them meet their goals.

Sean attended Providence College (Political Science) and Champlain College (Business Management), and is a graduate of the New England School of Banking at Williams College. In addition, he completed the Vermont Leadership Program and many industry specific courses and programs.

WGSB Announces New Year of High School Banking Program

[Woodsville, NH - August 2017] Students at area high schools have the opportunity to learn about saving and maintaining good credit thanks to a program called How To Do Your Banking. The seven-part financial skills course is funded by Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank and provided free of charge to area high schools for 11th and 12th grade students.

Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank's How To Do Your Banking program teaches students valuable, practical financial lessons including how to open and manage a checking account, making and sticking to a budget, and building and maintaining good credit. In addition to a workbook program, videos are available to reinforce important topics, such as the loan application and qualification process. Bank employees are also available to make in-class presentations on related topics, by teacher request.

Since Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank first introduced this program in 1995, How To Do Your Banking has reached more than 13,700 students, with 500 students expected to complete the course during the next school year.

'It's so important that kids have the skills they need to make good financial choices before they leave home for work or college,' said Jim Graham, President of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank. 'We're very happy to give young people this chance to practice money management in the classroom, where mistakes won't cost real dollars.'

Tricia Fryman Promoted to Assistant Vice President

[Woodsville, NH: May 19, 2017] James E. Graham, President and Chief Executive Officer of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank (WGSB) announced the promotion of Tricia Fryman to Assistant Vice President/Regional Branch Manager.

Tricia works from the bank's Meadow Street, Littleton office and is responsible for providing management support to the bank's Littleton/Meadow and Cottage Street offices, Franconia office, and Lancaster office. She also works closely with the retail team to support its many business and community development activities. Her promotion was approved by the bank's Board of Directors at its Annual Meeting, held May 11.

Tricia joined the bank in 1999 as a teller/CSR at the Lancaster office and transferred to the Littleton/Cottage Street office the next year as a CSR. There, she was promoted to Branch Supervisor (2004) and to Branch Manager (2006). In 2012, she accepted the position of Branch Manager for both the Cottage and Meadow Street offices in Littleton, and in 2016, was named Regional Branch Manager.

'Each step of the way and through many large projects, including the recent relocation of the Meadow Street office, Tricia's skill, attention to detail, and follow-through have made her a great asset and resource to the bank, her co-workers, and our customers,' said Graham. 'We appreciate her many contributions and her ongoing support of the bank's northern operations.'

In addition to her work here at the bank, Tricia is currently Vice President of the Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce and serves on its Membership Committee. She also volunteers with Granite United Way, serving on the Campaign and Community Impact cabinets, helping to both raise funds and distribute those funds to local community organizations.

Federal Reserve Bank Names WGSB President to Advisory Board

[Woodsville, NH: March 2, 2017] The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston recently announced the appointment of four new members to the First District Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council (CDIAC), including James E. Graham, President and Chief Executive Officer of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank. Other new members are Ellen N. Ford, President and Chief Executive Officer, Peoples Credit Union, Middletown, RI, Robert Miller, President and Chief Executive Officer, VSECU, Montpelier, VT, and Brian J. Murphy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Home Loan Investment Bank, Warwick, RI.

Established by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in 2010, the CDIAC provides a diverse perspective on the economy, lending conditions, and other issues facing thrift institutions, credit unions, and community banks with different charters and regulators (including state member, state nonmember, and national banks). WGSB Counts Touchdowns for Donation to Local Seniors

[Woodsville, NH: February 22, 2017] Local football fans have one more reason to be excited about the New England Patriots' championship season.

In September, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank (WGSB) announced it would donate $100 for each touchdown scored by the New England Patriots during the season to Grafton County Senior Citizens Council (GCSCC), for the benefit of three local senior centers, Littleton, Plymouth, and Horse Meadow in North Haverhill. Today, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank presented GCSCC with a check for $6,833.31, the total of 63 season touchdowns and additional donations from the bank's employees and customers. Split three ways, each of the senior centers received a check for $2,277.77.

'These senior centers provide so many critical services to the community, in the form of meals, activities, companionship, and resources,' said James Graham, President and Chief Executive Officer of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank. 'While we support their efforts in many ways, we knew this would be a unique way to support them this year, and would bring our employees and community together for a cause that's important to us all.'

Danny Desrosiers Joins WGSB's Plymouth Office

[Plymouth, NH: October 25, 2016] Dan Stannard, Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank (WGSB) announced the addition of Danny Desrosiers as Assistant Vice President and Business Development Officer.

Danny will work from the bank's Plymouth office, located on Tenney Mountain Highway, and be responsible for building and servicing banking relationships within the greater Plymouth area. He will also work closely with Richard Manzi, VP and Regional Market Manager, and the bank's Plymouth office team to support their many business and community development activities.

Danny joins WGSB with nearly 40 years of retail banking and bank management experience within the Plymouth community. Most recently, he served as AVP/Retail Banking at Community Guaranty Savings Bank (acquired by Bank of New Hampshire). Before that, he was AVP, Regional Branch Manager for Northway Bank (formerly Pemigewasset National Bank).

Danny is a graduate of the Northern New England School of Banking and has earned many additional banking-related certifications. In addition to his professional experience, he is also very involved the community. He is currently a member of both the Campton and SAU #48 school boards, positions he's held for 29 years. He is Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus Council of Plymouth and served as its financial secretary for 23 years. Danny is a past director of the NH Safe Deposit Association, Speare Medical Associates, and Waterville Region Chamber of Commerce, and has served on many other boards and committees for a variety of municipal and charitable organizations.

Danny and his wife, Dori, live in Campton, NH. They have two grown children.
