From humble beginnings in a garage, the St. Leo Food Bank has become one of the largest emergency food pantries in Pierce County. Our goal is to offer each of our clients at least three days of food for each member of their household.
The open hours for the St. Leo Food Bank can change depending on holidays and “closure weeks” which happen throughout the year. We do our best to include unusual schedules on our home page. If you are unsure or have a question, please give us a call at 253-383-5048.
NOTE that the Food Bank is closed on the first Thursday and first Saturday of each month.

Volunteers are essential members of our team and help us get ready in the mornings, work with clients during the day, and clean up after we close. Here are the hours for volunteering at the St. Leo Food Bank.

We are a walk-in food bank, so no appointment or paperwork is needed! Just come by during the open hours above. All you need for your first time are:
The St. Leo Food Bank is more than just a food pantry. We work to provide great support so our clients can be healthy and fulfill any other needs they may have. With this in mind, we host representatives from other agencies that provide:

The Food Bank of Lincoln is committed to alleviating hunger in Southeast Nebraska.We will continue to feed hungry neighbors in chase bank cd and money market rates face of circumstances that change on a daily, sometimes hourly basis. We will strive to meet the most pressing needs of as many clients as possible while ensuring the safety of our staff and keeping food moving in and out of our Distribution Center as efficiently and effectively as possible. For the safety of all, mobile food distributions will be canceled or postponed during inclement weather. This schedule will be updated as needed. Please check back regularly for updates.

Guests remain in their vehicles and Food Bank staff or volunteers load food into trunks and truck beds. Walk-up service is also available. If walking-up, we recommend bringing a cart or bag to help carry the food. The low-contact, no-contact drive-thru style provides maximum safety for individuals receiving food, as well as for staff and volunteers conducting the distribution.
You do not need to bring anything with you. We do not ask for any paperwork, identification or documentation at Food Bank distributions. We do ask that you please clear space in your trunk or truck bed ahead of time to make room for the food.
For the safety of all, mobile food distributions will be canceled or postponed during inclement weather. These notices will be communicated on our website, social media channels and main phone line greeting (402) 466-8170. Each week our Mobile Markets are distributing free groceries to neighbors in Northern Illinois. Everyone who needs groceries is welcome – no ID, proof of income, or referral is needed.

Whether a meal or a bag of groceries, you can count on the Ballard Food Bank to supply nutritious food with dignity.
Ballard Food Bank works the same as a grocery store: browse the shelves and choose items you need, such as meat and vegetables, hygiene items, and pet food. We also continue to offer no-cook bags and groceries.
For clients who are home-bound, Ballard Food Bank will deliver bags of groceries including nutritious fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy, and other non-perishable items that are available at the Food Bank.
Weekend Food for Kids provides a weekend backpack of nutritious and delicious food for children whose families need assistance.
Our Community Resource Hub offers services, including rent & utility assistance, healthcare, mailing address, ID vouchers, and more.

The McKenzies Remember Ballard Food Bank And Look Forward To Its Blount county tn online inmate search recently had the pleasure to speak with two Ballardites who have been connected to the food bank in many ways over the last two decades. Tim and Sharon McKenzie shared their experiences of working and volunteering at the food bank in our current and previous locations.

We met our goal because of our community coming together to make this moment happen. David has been a tremendous advocate for the Food Bank and a dedicated supporter of our efforts—all while balancing a busy legal career and growing family! We are so excited to be opening our doors to the new Ballard Food Bank in mid-October. We cannot wait to welcome all of you into our future home!

Staff Spotlight: Anthony Anderson
When COVID-19 took Washington by storm in early 2020, Anthony Anderson knew is there a food bank open today had to step up and make an impact. Recently we had the opportunity to sit down with Magnolia residents Lanne and Ryan Stauffer, proprietors of Market Street Shoes in Ballard. The Stauffers, who recently celebrated the store’s 15th anniversary, are very active in the community. Ryan joined the board of directors of Ballard Food Bank in 2020 and Lanne serves on the board of Ballard Alliance.

Designing a welcoming new home for Ballard Food Bank
Ballard Food Bank is excited to work with Seattle-based architects Graham Baba to create our amazing new home, set to open in fall 2021. We were attracted to the team’s deep expertise in how people interact with food—and each other.
